Left 4 Dead 2 has long been censored in Australia—since it’s release a few years ago, actually. Today, a new patch for the game brings it in line with the uncensored versions of the rest of the world, where players are allowed to decapitate and de-limb zombies, who spout fountains of red blood instead of whatever it is that passed as gore before the new update.
The game recently cleared the newly-introduced R18+ classification, allowing the game to be identical to versions sold elsewhere in the world, except for Germany, which also has a strict rating system that prevents games from being as violent as their international counterparts.
If you’re living in Australia and want to update the title to include gore, you’ll have to head over to the game’s Steam page or find the update through the DLC tab on your Steam client.
If you’ve yet to pick up the game, you can do so now at a 75 percent discount, which is pretty sweet. Get to killing those zombies, but try not to get yourself hurt in the process.
