Nolan North and Troy Baker are perhaps two of the most well known voice actors in video games. They will both be lending their voice acting talents to Monolith’s upcoming action role-playing game Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, and have given a candid interview with the game’s makers to discuss their roles and non-rivalry.
Troy Baker, known for his roles as the protagonists in BioShock Infinite and The Last of Us, will be voicing the main character Talion, while Nolan North, who’s best known for his role as Uncharted’s Nathan Drake, will be taking on the role of the game’s primary bad guy, the Black Hand of Sauron.
Both actors contributed motion capture performances to Shadow of Mordor in addition to their voices, and noted that this is the first game in which the two actors have interacted in character.
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings stories and places players into the role of Talion, a ranger possessed by the embodiment of a mysterious spirit, who’s out for vengeance against those who murdered his family.
The game is set for release on September 30 for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game’s last-gen versions have since been delayed by a month for the purposes of polishing them up.
