Trine Enhanced Edition, a remake of the original game made using the sequel's engine, has just been released on PC and is headed to PlayStation 4 and Wii U.
Trine 2 Director's Cut was released on Wii U in November 2012 while the game's Complete Story hit PS4 a year later and looked beautiful. Both the original and sequel involved playing a rogue, a mage, and a knight – switching between them as needed to solve puzzles and cross gaps.
Trine Enhanced Edition will include support for multiplayer with up to three players at any one time and mid-level saves have also been introduced which should make things somewhat easier.
PC owners of the original game can unlock the Enhanced Edition for free and there are plans to bring the game to Mac and Linux. While Trine was released on PS3, developer FrozenByte has not announced any plans to bring the Enhanced Edition to that console.
