Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson announced today that EA Games development studio PopCap games is working on a brand new Peggle title. Wilson made his comments at an investor call.
"A much-anticipated new Peggle game from PopCap is moving through a test period in preparation for launch," said Wilson.
Speaking to Polygon, an EA representative declined to provide further details about the upcoming title, which is presumably being developed for the new-gen of consoles—the PS4 and Xbox One, in addition to the PC and last-gen, or even iOS and mobile devices. We can’t imagine that the game would be exclusive to new-gen platforms, given PopCap’s penchant for creating simple and very casual games.
Peggle 2 was released late last year for the Xbox One and Xbox 360, and there’s a chance it may be getting ported to other platforms in the near future. We’ll keep you posted on the details as they become available.
