Destiny will run at 1080p on the Xbox One, just as it does on the PlayStation 4—just not in beta. In beta, Destiny will be running at a lower resolution on the Xbox One. Bungie community manager David Dague confirmed in an IGN live segment that the Xbox One will be running at 1080p at launch in September.
Destiny was originally planned to run at 900p on the Xbox One, but due to recent developments with Microsoft and the Xbox One SDK, the developers are able to shoot for 1080p with the device by freeing up processing power previously intended for the Kinect. The game will be running at 30fps on both PS4 and Xbox One consoles for the sake of parity.
The PlayStation beta went live a few hours ago, while Xbox users have to wait until next week to play the game. PlayStation owners experiencing problems with downloading the beta should check out this article for tips on how to get the download going.
Destiny is coming to PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
