Ubisoft has released an interview recorded at E3 last month with The Division game director Ryan Bernard in which he discusses the game's mid-crises New York setting, characters, and open world gameplay.
In The Division, players are part of an elite team sent into New York a month after a deathly virus released on Black Friday causes havoc to the city.
Yesterday, we reported on Bernard's comments regarding the RPG nature of the game. The developer said that players would be able to choose male or female characters who can be customised however you want them to be.
Bernard also spoke about the online nature of the game saying that while "You absolutely can play the game by yourself all the way through if you want, but we hope you don't want to. Basically everything in the game is about pushing people to play together. We have a great matchmaking system that tries to put players of a similar level and similar interest together."
Tom Clancy's The Division launches in 2015 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
