The Order: 1886 is chock full of mythical stuff, and Werewolves are front and center. They’ll be in the game as tall, intelligent beasts who’ll rip you apart without a moment’s notice.
The latest developer post by Ready at Dawn on the official PS Blog shares some of the design processes that went into the creation of the Lycan half-breeds you’ll be facing off against in the game.
These werewolves can shapeshift between human and lycan form, and you’ll be able to witness their transformation in full.
According to The Order’s alternate history, werewolves are a real, divergent branch of humankind that emerged about a thousand years prior to the game’s events. King Arthur formed the Knights of the Round Table to fight these monstrous creatures, and his knights and their descendants have waged a war against the Lycans throughout the ages.
Just like how Crusaders in Diablo 3 take the names of their predecessors, members of the Order do the same, with the player assuming the role of Galahad.
Check out the video below. It will give you some insight into the Ready at Dawn did to create the Lycans and show you some of their early work as well as the final design of the game’s main antagonists.
