There’s a new update out for the standalone version of DayZ, which brings the game up to version 0.45.124426. The changelog, which you can read on the game’s official forums, is pretty huge. I’d suggest giving it a thorough read, especially if you’re intent on knowing what’s new with this version of the game.
According to Matt Lightfoot, the game’s production assistant, there’s a few known issues with the patch. Notably, crashes can be caused by burned meat duplication, cameras can still clip through walls, and zombies will occasionally spawn at the same spot where they died—so be wary of what you kill.
There’s also a big issue where the player’s next character will not be saved into database if he or she disconnects after dying.
The biggest update to come with the patch is the addition of animals, including wild boar, rabbits, cows, pigs, and deer. They’ll spawn in the wilderness and you’ll be able to skin and quarter them for resources such as pelts, which you can turn into backpacks.

There’s a huge discussion thread on reddit’s DayZ community if you care to discuss the changes with other members of the community. Check that out here.
