Rumor: Dragon Age 3: Inquisition Will Be Dense

February 3, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Bioware promises a much richer experience and a bigger game world. However, some fans doubt the source – and Bioware itself.

Based on Bioware’s revealed images of Dragon Age 3: Inquisition, Unigamesity believes that the game world will be dense and dynamic. However, fans are skeptical about some of the details shared in this article.

Whereas the previous two games only went through the perfunctory cities, dungeons, and forests, the 3rd game will explore a wide range of locales and environments. In fact, beyond Ferelden and The Free Marches, which were explored in the previous games, Inquisition will explore five of the game world’s many provinces.  The other three are Nevarra, Orlais, and The Dales. Between the five of them, players will have explored Thedas’ entire Southern part.

In these three new provinces, players will be able to experience environments such as deserts, cold mountains, forests, and swamps, along with different climate conditions in each. There will also be a new range of man-made locations, like altars, prisons, fortresses, and so forth.

Players will also be witness to the destruction these places will experience in the war between the Darkspawn and the living races. These different provinces will display the desolation the war has left in its wake, as you work towards preparing for another one.

On another end, as Inquisitors, players will work towards acquiring and securing these man-made strongholds, but their quests will also lead them around Thedas, to the mythic and ancient location that Bioware has revealed.

Now, we have to address the fact that fans have called BS on much of the content of this article. Bioware’s official line claims players will be exploring West Ferelden to West Orlais. Others also point out that some locations may have been revealed in terms of concept art and lore, but may not be part of the final game.

In the end, as one fan has pointed out, Bioware itself has a habit of overpromising on their games, and as veterans of their games, he is skeptical of their statements in and of themselves. Whether we will get a game at the same level of density that is promised here, it promises to be a game with many experiences.

Dragon Age 3 Inquisition is coming Q3 of this year to Windows, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
