Rockstar will be joining the ranks of EA and THQ by gating off its content to make a profit on used game sales with its introduction of the "Rockstar Pass" when L.A. Noire is released next week.
According to an Xbox Live release schedule issued by Rockstar, the publisher will be releasing an 800 MS Point ($10) "L.A. Noire Rockstar Pass" alongside the retail release of the game.
The description of the content states that players who purchase the pass will take the experience of the game "to the next level," although exact details of the package are nonexistent.
Speaking to GameSpot, a Rockstar representative said that the company would have more information to share about the Rockstar Pass very soon.
It's unclear as to whether the pass will simply provide gamers with content gated off from pre-owned copies, or if the content is entirely exclusive to the online pass.
