Control was one of the more anticipated video game titles that had launched this year. It’s the latest Remedy Entertainment release and while gamers were eager to enjoy the game, it’s proven to be a bit unstable with some players. That’s soon going to be fixed as a September update will not only improve on a number of areas for the game itself but bring in new features such as motion blur.
Currently, this update is available, but only for the PlayStation 4 version of the game. If you want a heads up of what’s coming for the Xbox One and PC platforms, check out the patch notes otherwise you can experience it right now on Sony’s latest console.
Within Remedy Entertainment’s Control, players take on the role of Jesse, a young female who has entered a Government building aimed at fighting back supernatural entities. Things are already awry and while you’re lending a hand at fighting back this new enemy, you have other motives and means for your exploration of the federal agency. We’ll, of course, avoid from spoiling anything here in case you want to enjoy this new release, but we can tell you that there has been plenty of optimization problems since it launched.
While some users may go through the game without any problems at all, others have reported different crashes, bugs and dropped frames. This is often expected from new releases and just as we expect the occasional hiccup from a new game, it’s conventional to see developers release out a patch to fix the problems player have reported.
In an official blog post on Control, Remedy Entertainment has alerted fans that the new patch update is available for PlayStation 4. With it comes several bug fixes for crashes, improve stability and frame-rate, quicker map loading times, and even adjusts sound syncing. Likewise, there are two new features you may have an interest in which is adding film grain along with motion blur, both of which will be available within the options menu.
This update may only be available for the PlayStation 4, it was noted that it won’t be very long before PC and Xbox One platforms also receive this patch. We’re also only covering a small portion of the fixes placed in the game, for a full rundown of what has been tweaked, check out the patch notes below.
