Cyberpunk 2077
  • Developer: CD Projekt Red
  • Publisher: CD Projekt
  • Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
  • Release: April 16, 2020

There’s no doubt you’ve heard about Cyberpunk 2077. Going into 2020, this is one of the most anticipated video game launches and its coming from the development studio that brought out The Witcher series. Taking place in the future, players will explore an open world filled with crime and big corporations that rule the land. With that said, you take on the character named V, a mercenary that accepts difficult jobs to build up street cred. But how you handle the jobs and carry yourself within the game will determine the end result of your story. In fact, the background of your character will have three options that will define V which will apparently start you out in different areas of the world.

From the gameplay footage shown off so far, the in-game world looks to be huge and it’s going to offer players with plenty of exploration opportunities. Set mainly in a large city, the developers are allowing players to enter and explore a number of buildings. Additionally the city will already having six districts that will set apart from each other in terms of design. We’ve only received a small portion of what CD Projekt Red has in store for use when the game comes out. One video that is going around online that gives a good look in terms of what you can expect both in terms of mechanics to the in-game world is the demo footage released post-E3 2018 which you can view above.

Watch Dogs Legion
  • Developer: Ubisoft
  • Publisher: Ubisoft
  • Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO, Google Stadia
  • Release: March 6, 2020

The third mainline installment to the Watch Dogs franchise is Watch Dogs: Legion. This time around players are not focused on one particular protagonist but instead a slew of potential characters. As noted during the E3 2019 press conference from Ubisoft, players are tasked with recruiting newcomers to Dedsec and with a city full of people with unique skills, there is a limitless supply of characters you can take the role as. Likewise, it’s worth noting that each character is susceptible to dying and once they die they can no longer be used in your roster so you can expect a rather frequently rotating cast of characters.

Ubisoft is taking the Watch Dogs series to London, giving players a new look at cities and locations that are on the verge of implosion thanks to an authoritarian regime. Right now we don’t know just how large of the map Ubisoft has crafted up for this game, but the gameplay footage showcased during E3 2019 did showcase a rather large open world. We’re sure that the development team is being rather ambitious to create a large world full of citizens to recruit.

Remotehred: Broken Porcelain
  • Developer: Stormind Games
  • Publisher: Darril Arts, Modus Games
  • Platforms: PS4, XBO, NS, PC
  • Release: 2020

During Gamescom 2019 we got the surprise announcement of Remothered: Broken Porcelain. For those who are unaware, this is a new installment to the Remothered series by development studio Stormind Games. Acting as a spiritual successor to the Clock Tower franchise, players can expect a survival horror video game experience, with a dark atmosphere, puzzles and investigating your surroundings. The first installment, Remothered: Tormented Fathers, did rather well and it warrants enough attention for the development studio to go back and deliver a new installment.

Remothered: Broken Porcelain is another survival horror title filled with puzzles, stealth gameplay, and expanded lore. However, this time around you’ll be finding the truth buried within the Ashmann Inn as stalkers and hunters are trapped within the confinements of its walls.

Dying Light 2
  • Developer: Techland
  • Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
  • Platforms: PC, PS4, XBO
  • Release: 2020

Dying Light 2 was unveiled during E3 2018 where the game showcased a new city located in Europe. Zombies are still very much a problematic threat within the game with combat still based around gunplay and melee. One of the new elements being tossed in this latest installment is that the game will feature choice-based mechanics. There will be a series of choices available for players to pick through and with each decision there will be a consequence affecting gameplay along with the narrative.

Just like the last installment, there is a big focus on parkour-style skills which will come in handy as you explore the world. Speaking about the in-game world, we know that the map is four times larger than the previous installment. Set in a fictional European settlement that is one of the last human settlement against the undead horde that rules the world, there will be a wide variety of locations to visit as well within the city. Luckily, because of the larger city, the development studio has tweaked the stamina system to allow players the ability to make upgrades. This should make traversing the city a bit easier along with dodging any hostile enemies.
