Guys, shoes are important. Not just for fashion or durability, but to make a statement on the basketball court. People notice what’s on the feet of the best ballers, and 2K Games is making sure that it’s taking this fashionable element seriously in NBA 2K14. Community leader Ronnie2K has just revealed how much the developer cares about shoes in a new Facebook post, showcasing a few of the signature styles your favorite players will support in this year’s edition of the title.
As you’d expect, the major brands are making a return this year. Nike, Adidas, Jordan, Spalding, and Under Armour will all be featured, but fan-requested names like Peak, Anta, and Li-Ning will also be included in the bunch. There will be a core set of kicks (in a variety of colors) that fans can sport, but really, it’s the custom shoes designed for stars like LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Derrick Rose, Chris Paul, and Kevin Durant that will stand out the most. An example of the “KD VI” can be seen above.
If you don’t care about style and just want to see the game in action, a developer diary was just released that shows some never-before-seen footage from this October release. PS3 and Xbox 360 owners can jump into NBA 2K14 Oct. 1, while those holding out for next-gen versions will just have to wait until November.
