Today, Microsoft Studios boss Phil Spector revealed that the company intends to bring more international sports into the mix, well beyond its deal with the NFL.
"We believe sports is a very interesting category globally," said Spector in an interview with Bloomberg.
"We'll be expanding what we do in sports to bring more international sports into the mix."
"They have literally hundreds of ideas that they are incubating right now," he said. "We will have some new announcement for TV shows coming pretty soon."
As CVG notes, Microsoft has built a strong relationship with UK broadcaster Sky, which airs hundreds of Premier League matches each year. It remains to be seen whether they will continue their partnership with the UK broadcaster and offer international sports for owners of the system.
