Gamescom, the Cologne gaming show that promises a healthy suite of products just waiting to be played by both press and the general public, is just weeks away. Microsoft, Sony, and a cast of start-studded publishers will be bringing their best to Europe to continue the hype train that exited E3 just months ago, but Nintendo might just be in the greatest need of a confidence boost after a difficult fiscal quarter. We don’t quite yet know what will be playable on the Wii U, but it has just been revealed that the first playable Pokémon X and Y demo will make an appearance.
The convention, which will be open August 21-25, should have some of the biggest next-gen games on display, yet if you’re a Pokémon fan, the thought of taking a stroll through Kalos, the brand new region in Pokémon X and Y, and catching a few of the latest additions to the Pokémon family might be even more appealing than touching a PS4 controller. If you take a look at some of the fan-made videos that analyze each and every second of the latest trailers for the 3DS title, you’ll soon realize that there will likely be Gamescom attendees making the trip just to play this specific demo.
Nintendo fans who aren’t training to become Pokemon masters can expect to see the following games at the show: Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Sonic: Lost World, Wii Party U, Super Mario 3D World, Wii Karaoke U by JOYSOUND, Mario Kart 8, Professor Layton & The Azran Legacy and The Legend Of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. An eShop demo of Pokémon X and Y from the show floor could be possible down the line, too.
