In case you can't bear the swaying of a boat as the waves roll by, players can instead take as long as 30 minutes to sail across Assassin's Creed 4's open world.
While Ashraf Ismail – the director on Assassin's Creed 4 – wouldn't compare the sizes of each Assassin's Creed game, he did mention that with Assassin's Creed 4 and its open waters, it stands as the studios "biggest game" ever developed.
With the largest scale game to date, Ubisoft needed all the help available to develop Black Flag. With the reallocation of resources, Ubisoft Sofia – the developers on the Assassin's Creed: Liberation on PS Vita – needed to help with Assassin's Creed 4 as well.
In response to the Vita release, Ashraf said "Liberation actually did very well – we're very proud of it. Sales were fairly decent. But the focus for us was Assassin's Creed 4, for current-gen consoles and next-gen consoles."
The team at Ubisoft Sofia will focus on a specific part of Assassin's Creed 4 which means that the studio cannot develop another title for the PS Vita at this time.
Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag will release on October 29th.
