Today GameFreak has released a new gameplay trailer for Pokemon X and Pokemon Y which reveals the games' legendary Pokemon – the Fairy-type Xerneas and the Dark/Flying-type Yveltal.
According to a press release "Legenday Pokemon Xerneas, the cover Pokemon for Pokemon X, is a Fairy-type Pokemon, a new type being introduced in the new titles. Legendary Pokemon Yveltal, the cover Pokemon for Pokemon Y, is a dark-and Flying-type Pokemon."
Xerneas has the exclusive move Geomancy and the special ability Fairy Aura which strengthens the power of all Fair-type moves in battle. However, Fairy Aura also boosts the opposing team's Fairy-type Pokemon.
Yveltal is the only Pokemon which can learn the Oblivion Wing move "which sends Yveltal flying high into the sky to release a powerful beam of red light that scorches the ground below." Yveltal's special ability is Dark Aura which boosts the power of all Dark-type Pokemon moves in battle for both you and your oppenent.
Other new Pokemon revealed include Pangoro, an evolution of Pancham as well as Inkay, Malamar, Swirlix and Spritzee.
Pokemon X and Pokemon Y are set for release on October 12th for 3DS.
