Nintendo Switch owners may find themselves with another Blizzard developed title. The development studio has a wide selection of video games that could potentially see a launch on the latest hybrid console release but recently the question came up as to if the team-based first-person shooter Overwatch could see a release on the console.
This came after publication GameSpot spoke with Blizzard’s senior producer Pete Stilwell. According to Pete Stilwell, we could potentially see a release for the Nintendo Switch if the development team was up for it. Apparently, there’s not a problem in terms of hardware being capable of running the game.
“Anything is within the realm of possibility. Our team was given the task to work on this. If [Overwatch developer] Team 4 picks up the endeavor, that’s on them. As of right now, Diablo is our only focus on Switch.”
So if you’re looking to get the hero-based FPS on-the-go with the Nintendo Switch then you’re not out of luck. While there doesn’t appear that any ports are currently in the works, knowing that fans are interested and developers can potentially do it is a good sign.
For now, the only video game being ported over onto the Nintendo Switch is the upcoming release of Diablo 3. Would you be interested in playing Overwatch on the Nintendo Switch? Share your thoughts within the comments down below.
