The indie developed adventure game, Proteus, will release on the PS3 and PS Vita.
Proteus won't throw dozens of enemies at the player or introduce a puzzle in need of solving, majority of time Proteus will let the player just wander and explore a land full of pixelated trees and plants filled with solid colors.
To keep each playthrough of Proteus unique, developers Curve created a world that procedurally generates itself. When the game cycles through the four different seasons, the game ends and allows the player to again explore the land with an entirely new layout.
Depending on where players choose to explore in Proteus, players will run into objects or wildlife with their own time signatures. With every playthrough players will ultimately hear new sounds and explore new areas not found or heard in their first run through of the game.
Proteus will release on the PS Vita and PS3 this fall with the Cross Buy feature enabled.
