Fallout’s director, Todd Howard, has confirmed that the BETA for thier upcoming apocalyptic RPG, Fallout 76 will have an open beta, and that the open beta will have an Xbox One exclusive window just before the other platforms.
The reason behind the exclusive beta window hasn’t been made known yet, we don’t really know if there are any exclusive marketing deals in the works, or if the Xbox One exclusive window is there for technical reasons – either way, Xbone players will be happy to enter this co-op adventure before everyone else.
So, how do we actually end up participating in the beta? Unfortunately, it’s not going to be an open beta. Access codes will be granted to those who pre-order the game – no pre-order no access. As of right now, there is no word when the beta will launch – that being said stay tuned to Gameranx and we’ll have the info as soon as it drops.
