Out of all the Battle Royale clones that exist, Battlefield V seems to be one of the only game’s introducing the mode that I’m really excited for. Why? Because the existing engine and mechanics of Battlefield just make sense when it comes to this genre.
Parachuting feels awesome, the vehicles work well, maps are massive, kit pickups are versatile and Battlefield has an absolutely massive story of weapon attachments that alter gameplay. Not to mention the game’s brilliant destruction engine. Unfortunately, if you thought Battle Royale would be available during launch – we’ve got some bad news: in a recent interview with Geoff Keighley, Design Director Daniel Berlin revealed that the mode will only be available post-launch.
While this is a little bit disappointing, Berlin did add to this saying that it’s going to be exactly what Battlefield fans want: “What I can say is that it’s going to be our depiction of Royale and it’s going to lean into the core DNA of Battlefield.”
Sounds exciting, thoughts? Let us know in the comments below.
