Diablo 3 Update 1.0.8 Goes Live, Brings Co-op Improvements

May 8, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

A new patch for DIablo 3 has rolled out, bringing with it a host of improvements to the game, notably to co-op mode.

Diablo 3

The long awaited 1.0.8 update of Diablo 3 has just gone live, bringing with it a host of changes and improvements to the game's classes, weapons, and most importantly, co-op elements.

As the patch rolls out across the game's various international servers, players can expect to receive a host of incentives to play the game cooperatively—a feature that has thus far been neglected as players found it much easier, and more profitable for themselves to personally play the game alone. Instead of being penalized for playing with other players, all players are now set to receive a 10% bonus to Magic Find, Gold Find, and Experience per additional player in any multiplayer game, up to a maximum bonus of 30% in a four-player game.

The bonus to Magic and Gold Find will allow players to exceed the maximum 300% cap, and the Experience bonus stacks with Monster Power. In other words, players no longer have much reason to play alone anymore. If they have friends, then playing the game with others will offer them with the best bang for their buck.

Additionally, players will be notified whenever an ally engages a group of elites or a treasure goblin, so you'll be able to sprint to wherever it is your friends are fighting and earn some of the loot.

In addition to the changes listed, players now have the ability to identify all items at the push of a button by visiting the Book of Cain in town.

Finally, a new matchmaking system has been added to the game to allow players to search for "tags" that have been added, which include Monster Slaying, Brawling, and Key Warden. This gives players the option to choose what they want to do instead of having to hop from game to game.

The full patch notes can be found at the official Diablo 3 website here.
