For most players jumping into the F2P Fortnite: Battle Royale, you’ll only be able to earn V-Bucks through microtransaction purchases. But, if you’ve unlocked the battlepass (or purchased the original cooperative version of the game) you can begin to get lots of V-Bucks totally for free — well, minus that first purchase.
Here, we’re going to list all the different ways to earn V-Bucks. There are ways (or way, singular) to get V-Bucks in Battle Royale, but mostly we’re sticking to the PVE Save the World version of the game. It gets confusing, but there are two sides to Fortnite — the PVP battle royale game, and the PVE cooperative survival builder. How to Earn V-Bucks | Free In-Game Currency Guide
The main form of in-game currency in Fortnite are V-Bucks, which currently cannot be earned without spending real money on the game; either by purchasing a seasonal battlepass for 950 V-bucks (about 10 bucks) or by purchasing the original PvE cooperative Save the World version (40 bucks). Anything that tells you V-buck can be earned completely free is a scam. You’ll have to spend money if you’re looking to unlock cosmetic items.
How To Earn V-Bucks in Battle Royale (PVP)
- V-Bucks are earned through the Battle Pass; which can be viewed from a tab in the in-game browser. Challenges change weekly which will allow you to earn points toward ranking up and receiving either cosmetic items or V-buck rewards depending on the tier achieved.
How To Earn V-Bucks in Save The World (PVE)
- The Easiest way to earn V-bucks is through daily rewards. Just login; rewards vary between 50 to 300 V-bucks per twenty-four hour login.
- Daily Quests are less useful, if you’re willing to grind out basic objectives you can earn between 100 to 150 V-bucks; each quest completed earns 50 V-bucks and dailies vary between 2 or 3 quests a day.
- Challenges are like in-game achievements that sometimes reward V-bucks on completion; the best way to earn these is through playing the campaign.
- The Collection Book also can earn you some V-bucks. It’s unlocked from the skill tree, so some time must be put into PvE before you’ll be able to access it. Basically, any unused Heroes, Defenders, Schematics or Survivors can be permanently placed in the book which level it up. At Certain levels, V-bucks are rewarded.
- 500 V-bucks are awarded at levels 6, 26, and 91.
