Crysis 3 Update Fixes Graphics Driver Crashes

March 8, 2013 by Ian Miles Cheong

The latest patch for Crysis 3 adds stability to the game.

Crysis 3

It's been a week since the release of Crysis 3, and its developers have released the game's latest update, bringing it up to version 1.2.

The patch notes, which have been provided by Crytek, state that much of the game's graphics driver-related crashes have been fixed, so players experiencing instability with the game should find their issues alleviated. The patch also fixes a number of shadering issues and bugs related to non-default controls for weapon customization. Players who prefer not to use the default WASD controls shouldn't have a hard time reconfiguring their keys and playing the game on their own terms.

Here's everything else:

PC patch 1.2 notes:

Fixed after-match award dog tags from not loading from the profile correctly
Fixed root cause of some graphics driver crashes
Fixed particle shader causing black squares/broken shading on some graphics cards
Fixed shadering issue with underwater fog
Fixed issues with non-default controls for weapon customization
Fixed some issues with binding non-default vehicle controls

Data Patch C notes:

Developers Choice playlist updated to new game mode variation
    Jackal fire rate decreased slightly
Jackal per pellet damage fall off increased
Fixed an issue where the Takedowns spread escalated too quickly in certain zoom modes
Grendel fall damage fall off reduced for better long range impact
FY71/SCAR damage fall off increased to reduce their effective range
Further matchmaking tweaks for X360 and PS3 to increase chance of local sessions being found
Foregrip and Muzzle Brake effectiveness reduced slightly
    Laser sight effectiveness reduced slightly

The patch is available for download on the PC and will be available on consoles shortly.
