Just a few weeks ago saw the grand return of the world's first and only 24-bit video game system, the NeoGeo, reborn as the NeoGeo X handheld.
And even though the product is relatively brand new, Siliconera reports that the production run has already ceased. No more systems are being made and shipped in Japan. No word yet on what the status is here in the United States.
Yet SNK and Tommo, makers of the now defunct hardware, states that software production is still going ahead as planned. New game card releases are forthcoming, supposedly.
Though to date, there has only been one, Ninja Master's, which came included in the special edition of the system. There have been zero details as to what other titles are forthcoming, let alone their prices.
Needless to say, this news has not been well received. Especially among those that purchased the handheld upon its release. The NeoGeo X was a bit of a risky investment to being with, one that some feel has been money wasted.
