CD Projekt RED is certainly busy in its role as and coming triple AAA developer. While they've been making great games for a while now, it's only recently that their prowess has become so well known in gaming circles. The developer, best known for the mature RPGs, The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings based off the novels has not slowed down in developing games to even take a breath it seems.
They released a teaser of their next triple AAA game Cyberpunk 2077, based off the 80s pen-and-paper role playing game of a similar name, Cyberpunk. But they also included a secret message into their glamorous teaser, flashing a bit of text that can be freeze-framed to reveal a message stating that CD Projekt RED is about to reveal its other project, which is much closer to being completed than Cyberpunk 2077.
“It will also be a fully open-world game with an intense story. You can probably guess the game we’re talking about,” the developer said, adding that "all will be clear" on February 5. With that said, of course the hints point to the inevitable sequel to 2011's The Witcher 2.
Today, they released the above teaser image on TheWitcher.com, along with the following message regarding it.
"Oh, and if you are wondering what’s that in that picture above – well, we’ll leave it for your imagination to answer. :)"
Fans of the game will recognize Geralt's sword hilt, adorned with the creature that has become synonymous with the word 'witcher'.
There is little doubt now, that the Witcher 3 will be officially announced on February 5, although the announcement would be coming only 2 years after the second game released, while there was four years in between the first Witcher game and its sequel.
