Capcom just began running a survey to gauge interest in which major properties they should possibly invest in, as it pertains to digital distribution.
The survey can be found over at Capcom Unity, and comes with the following message from Christian Svensson, Capcom of America's Corporate Officer/Senior Vice President:
"Obviously, we have many opinions internally and we're looking to gather some data about your buying habits and what franchises and even title types, you'd like us to make in the future.
So that end, I've been allowed to share this survey with all of you. The survey will only take a few minutes of your time and it's a great opportunity to let your voices be heard directly.
There's no guarantees on what the outcomes will be, but I promise you, this data will be a factor in our decision making process. I'll be compiling the data in about a week (closing just after Christmas) and sharing the results internally with Japan before the end of the year."
It asks if the respondent would be interested in straight ports, HD remakes, franchise reboots, franchise extensions, or new/original IPs. Various properties are mentioned; everything from Street Fighter to Mega Man.
Obviously it's a smart idea, but is it even necessary? You don't have to be a Capcom executive to know that there has a constant clamoring for anything Mega Man related for seemingly ages now
Actually, it would seem that such a position renders one ignorant of this simple fact. Otherwise we would have Mega Man Legends 3 at this point. If an online survey is what's necessary to send the appropriate message to the necessary party, so be it.
