The Xbox 360 is getting a major influx of new apps to add to its collection. On his blog, Major Nelson has provided a list of the apps, along with specifications as to where each is launching. Here's a brief rundown.
Crunchyroll, an app that allows you to watch “Anime and Asian drama” including Bleach, Naruto Shippuden, and Hunter x Hunter in HD. There are over 20,000 episodes, so even if your favourite anime isn't included you should be able to find something you like. Crunchyroll will launch in all Live regions except Japan, UAE, Slovakia, and Saudi Arabia.
A couple of new apps will launch only in Mexico: Televisa and Azteca. Televisa is free and includes content like “recaps from telenovelas, sports, news and entertainment”. Azteca is presumably not free, and will allow Live members in Mexico to catch up on missed television.
Viaplay is launching in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden, and includes on-demand television shows and movies, with lots of sport.
The U.S. is getting a bunch of apps: AOL On (“find top new stories, the hottest in entertainment, even simple recipes”), Vimeo, and Snag Films (hundreds of indie movies).
Finally, IGN is extending its reach to Australia and New Zealand, so Live members in those countries will be able to check out walkthroughs and various IGN shows.
Anything on the list you're particularly happy about?
