Torment: Tides of Numenera Updated With Free Content

May 22, 2017 by Katrina Filippidis

Additions include the living artefact ‘Oom’ & a Voluminous Codex.

Torment: Tides of Numenera released to generally favourable reviews this February, and we thought it was perfect for RPG fans in search of a choice driven game with deep narrative. Today, inXile Entertainment and Techland Publishing announced a couple of free content updates for the game, which include a new companion called ‘Oom’ and the Voluminous Codex – an encyclopaedia of sorts.

Oom is a mute, shape-changing guardian whose thoughts are comprised of strange, alien metaphors. It’s a faithful companion that’s linked to the Tides, and offers new abilities like ‘tidal shapeshifting’ The Voluminous Codex provides a more encyclopaedic function, documenting your various travels, keeping track of rich lore and characters, and will continuously keep filling over the course of the game to boost your knowledge repository. The update also promises improved console performance and revamped battles and crises.

Torment: Tides of Numenera is out now for PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
