Nintendo of America head Reggie Fils-Aime has reiterated Nintendo's claim that 2012 will be "the year of Wii U," indicating that major announcements about the new hardware might be on the way before the E3 trade show in June.
"So, essentially, we will be sharing information throughout the entire year," Reggie told Spike in an interview at CES. " I won't say you're going to have to wait until E3, but we're certainly not breaking any news here. No launch date, no launch price, no game line-up."
"But we will be sharing a lot of information throughout the year, on how we will be driving Wii U into households this year."
As for a prospective launch window? That's still tagged as sometime between June and the end of the year. When pressed, Reggie didn't rule out a surprise E3 launch for the Wii U, though history tells us that's probably not going to happen.
