Rocksteady Studios posted an AMAA earlier, sharing small tidbits regarding Batman Arkham Knight.
The Batsuit was made to look more robotic and metal looking so that fans can see how its related to the Batmobile. As we’ve covered extensively before, many of the Batmobile’s abilities are supported and replicated by the Batsuit.
When asked about the highest combat variation possible, they revealed that some big fights will involve a significant number of enemies. When you consider that there are practically two armies after Bruce now (the united group of Gotham criminals, as well as Arkham Knight’s personal army), the possibilities really are incredible.
The Predator challenges will be large scale encounters, promising real challenge. You will face off with armed groups, large in number but also mixed up with different kinds of enemies.
The animators have been working on making the fights look great. If you remember the Ace Chemicals Infiltration trailer, the latter part of that trailer where Bruce faces off against two Arkham Knight mercenaries was actually gameplay! Rocksteady just changed the angle for cinematic effect.
Speaking of the martial arts fights, the AI for the martial arts experts will be quite the challenge. They can dodge and counter, and they can dodge in such a way that it won’t break up your combo. Clearly, you can’t just expect blindly repeating combos to work.
We already know there will be puzzles and game portions which will require the Batmobile to progress. Perhaps frustratingly, Rocksteady indicated there would be parts of the game where the Batmobile will make things easier, but you won’t have access to it.
They confirmed the game will have alternate skins, with a New 52 skin available in the Batmobile Edition and Limited Edition SKUs.
The Harley Quinn and Red Hood DLC will both be story missions. Harley’s DLC will be available via preorder, while Red Hood will be retailer exclusive.
Finally, their next trailer is dropping Monday, 9 AM PST on the official Arkham Knight site.
Batman: Arkham Knight will be released on June 2, 2015, for Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
