IndieBox, a monthly physical indie game subscription service, is stepping things up this month. October’s indie game is a special collector’s edition of Brutal Legend.
Double Fine’s 2009 action adventure was set in a sprawling open world with a heavy metal/fantasy theme. Tim Schafer surprised fans by incorporating real time strategy elements deeply, as well as a variety of minigames, such as a Guitar Hero style rhythm game, hot rod races, and tower defense like boss battles.
IndieBox delivers special collector’s editions of indie games, in classic retro style boxes, and usually filled with extras, such as the original soundtrack, a color manual, and more. Last month, IndieBox offered Vlambeer’s Luftrausers. The Luftrausers bundle came with a USB game cartridge, that had the DRM free version of the game, along with two demos, a Luftrausers Steam key, a 16 page color manual, A soundtrack CD, a custom sticker, an iron-on patch, and a foam fighter plane.
Today, Double Fine and IndieBox are proud to offer this special Collector’s Edition, the first they are announcing prior to release. They have yet to confirm all the contents of this month’s Collector’s Edition, but if you are a fan of Brutal Legend, you can be sure there will be some sweet bonuses that Double Fine have not yet offered before.
You can get October’s IndieBox game by signing up before October 22, 11:59 PM here. You can also follow The IndieBox on Facebook and Twitter. If you were interested in the Luftrausers bundle, IndieBox is still selling it while supplies last here.
