Sony has released two new videos showing off the PlayStation Camera's augmented reality potential in a series of experiments.
The first video demonstrates fluid animation, featuring a user hold up virtual water and pouring it from one container into another while the second video highlights the PS4's AR dynamic lighting capabilities.
The user is shown illuminating a virtual dinosaur with a real life light source and the reptile reacts to various light colours.
Also mentioned in a post on the video on the Japanese PlayStation Blog is a "trading card recognition" system which "recognizes high-speed pattern of trading cards, to display and play music and characters named after the card." The blog post also details the uses of AR on PlayStation Vita.
Sony has been experimenting with augmented reality since the PlayStation Eye Camera for PS2. Earlier this year, the company announced its intentions to move into the virtual reality space with its Project Morpheus prototype.
