The past day or so has been a real whirlwind for Hammerpoint Interactive and their game War Z. It all came to a head earlier this afternoon when the title in question was pulled from Steam; after numerous charged of fraud, Valve had no choice but to investigate, and their resulting action tells you everything you need to know as to what they found.
Yet more and more signs of the developer's unprofessional antics keeps materializing. The latest revelation is courtesy of Kotaku, which shows how the game's title screen boldly plagiarizes from a variety of sources.
Including The Walking Dead and possibly The Shaun of the Dead as well. As well as various pictures taken from zombie cosplayers, presumably plucked from the internet at random.
A few believe that some of the comparisons are a little unfair and that Hammerpoint Interactive's illustrator was simply drawing inspiration from a variety of sources. Which is bull. There is no excuse for taking images from the internet, without permission, as reference material.
Professional illustrators all either create their own reference photos or properly credit their sources. That's why they're professionals.
