343 Industries has outsourced the development of Halo 4's Forge map editor to Certain Affinity. The developers have since released a video to showcase some of the exclusive features available in the new Forge builder, including object snapping and a variety of unique palettes which define how maps look.
Map makers can even change the traits of parts of the map by adding cubes that change the gravity volume, so you can do a lot of creative things with your maps like setting up a low-gravity area.
Through the tools provided in Halo 4's Forge editor, you'll be able to create a wealth of different maps, including puzzle maps.
You can watch the Forge walkthrough with game developers Kynan Pearson and Lori Zawada below.
Halo 4 is set for release on November 6, 2012. It is exclusive to the Xbox 360.
