Shinji Mikami is a well-known and beloved video game designer who has helped create a number of survival horror titles. Some of his best-known works include Resident Evil and Dino Crisis, though his most recent creation came out in 2014 with The Evil Within.
The video game offered a horrifying experience that was something survival-horror fans enjoyed. After all, Resident Evil at the time had aslant from its roots by offering fans a more action-oriented gameplay. That’s until its most recent creation with Resident Evil 7.
In The Evil Within, players take control of Sebastian Castellanos through a nightmarishly distorted world as he solved puzzles and defeat nightmare-like enemies. With a generally positive reception of the video game, it wouldn’t come to much of a surprise that we would see a sequel to the IP.
Of course, with that said, there has been no word on a sequel from the development team Tango Gameworks or publisher Bethesda Softworks. Recently, however, there was a job posting that made its way onto NeoGaf.
Within the job posting, it’s revealed that the development team is working on The Evil Within 2 with the current stage being in QA and translation. We should still label this as a rumor until an official announcement is made regarding the video game sequel.
Perhaps we’ll find more details regarding The Evil Within 2 during this year’s E3 expo where Bethesda has been holding their own press briefings regarding their collection video game titles.
