Recently a lot of rumors have been floating around about the supposed iPad mini, which is obviously going to be a competitor for $200 tablets like that thar Nexus 7 tablet and the Kindle Fire HD. But now the whole playing field has changed as on app developer may have stumbled on what appears to be the next generation iPad.
Said developer was just minding his own business, looking at his app analytics when he found a rogue iPad. The footprint of this scallywag was the same of the current generation iPad, but had the processor of the iPhone 5, which of course the current gen iPad doesn't.
Gizmodo also reports that it was rumored that Apple is going to revise the whole line of iOS devices so that they will use the new Lightning connector, that includes the iPad.
Now the question isn't if their is going to be a next iPad, the question is when. The last generation of iPad was released in March of this year, so I would imagine if Apple is going to release a whole "new" (heavy sarcasm quotes) iPad then they would do it next year. If instead they are just going to update the processor, as is with our app developer's mystery iPad, then they may be releasing it sooner than that.
Meanwhile I need to get myself a Nexus 7 tablet…
