Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Update Adds King of the Hill Game Mode

March 15, 2017 by Dennis Patrick

New vanity items and weapons are also included.

Uncharted 4 is nearly a year old and if you’re starting to find it to be a bit dull, there’s a brand new DLC update slated to launch this Friday. News of the update came earlier before the actual launch of the Uncharted 4 video game from Naughty Dog thanks to their roadmap release.

Now to further spread the word of their latest update to launch on Uncharted 4, Scott Lowe, a Senior Communications Manager for Naughty Dog, has taken to the official PlayStation Blog. Scott Lowe gives us a quick breakdown of what’s to come on March 17, 2017.

One of the biggest additions to the Uncharted 4 multiplayer is the latest permanent game mode known as King of the Hill. This is similar to most King of the Hill game modes available in various titles, however, there is one slight twist.

Naughty Dog has developed the game mode in hopes that the losing team still remains a fighting chance despite a team winning the initial hill. Essentially, once the winning team captures the hill, a secondary location which will be known as Victory Hill, will be featured. It’s this hill that the losing team can attempt to capture, causing the round to restart on even playing ground, although, if the winning team manages to capture the Victory Hill then the round ends.

“First up, we’re introducing a new permanent game mode: King of the Hill. It tasks two teams with fighting for control of rotating capture points in order to reach the score limit. King of the Hill requires careful coordination and skilled use of Multiplayer’s core combat and movement systems.

However, even if victory seems assured, King of the Hill offers a unique twist — after the score limit has been reached, the losing team has one last chance to make a comeback through what we call the Victory Hill. The leading team must capture the Victory Hill to win, but if the losing team takes it, they get a second chance at glory.”

Additionally, Scott Lowe states that there will be new vanity items and weapons such as the INSAS, Type-95, along with a scoped Competition Pistol. For fans of The Last of Us, Naughty Dog has included a Savage Starlight character skin for gamers to use in the outfit customization menu.
