Minecraft for the XBOX 360 has come a long way since it was first introduced on to the console. It may not be the PC version, but millions of fans have flocked to the game on the 360.
Currently the PC version will be getting bats and witches, among other things, in its Halloween update while the 360 version will be getting Creative mode in it's next update. For those of you unfamiliar with creative mode the player is able to place an infinite amount of any type of item or block in the game and tools are infinite as well. Also in this mode you will never take damage and can fly. Fun yes?
That's not the only thing coming to the update though. New items like melons, pumpkins, raw and cooked beef, and chicken come into play. New craftable items include iron bars, brick stars, and fence gates. There are also three new mobs: Endermen, cave spiders, and the dreaded silverfish. Oh and don't forget the fabulous landscape features like ravines, towns, and strongholds as well as river and ocean biomes.
Joystiq reports that a release date for this new patch has not been revealed yet, the only clue as to when it will release so far is a vague "soon".
You know, it might also be a smart move for Microsoft to let developers put their mods onto the 360 version as downloadable content. But then again, we would probably be paying for content we can get for free on the PC version. Tell me why is there an XBOX 360 version for minecraft again?
