Speedrunner Completes The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild In An Hour

Mar 9, 2017 Dennis Patrick

Speedrunner sets the record for Breath of the Wild. Can you top it?

With every big video game release comes to a slew of attempts to speedrun the video game in the fastest time possible. Over time, these speedruns are perfected with new glitches discovered, shortcuts, and a variety of attack combinations when confronted with enemies.

It comes to no surprise that when The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the latest main installment to release from Nintendo, would be quickly picked up for speedrunners around the world. Being that Nintendo opted to make the latest The Legend of Zelda title completely open world allowing gamers to go wherever they please, there are several shortcuts and glitches for speedrunners to make use of.

As mentioned, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is completely open world and as such, Nintendo allows gamers to go straight towards the end boss to complete the game right from the start. Of course, you’ll likely want to gather items and explore first before taking on the powerful end-game enemy, though with the game only a week old, we’re sure there is going to be someone out there to complete the challenge flawlessly.

This will certainly be a feat for gamers to speedrun, but as of right now, YouTuber Venick409 seems to have the top place by beating the game in just over one hour and five minutes. The entire speedrun can be viewed within the video posted above, though naturally, there are major spoilers throughout the video making it something to skip on if you plan to pick up or play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for yourself which is available for both the Nintendo Switch and Wii U platforms right now.
