Guess what! It's The Binding of Isaac's birthday. Bizarre, I had no idea the game had been out for that long. Time flies when you play amazing games, it seems.
To celebrate this, the game is 75 percent off this weekend on Steam–and so is the fantastic expansion, The Wrath of the Lamb. I can't reccomend the roguelike zelda twinstick shooter. I'd go so far as to say The Wrath of the Lamb is on my personal shortlist for GOTY contender–but only because, sadly, The Binding of Isaac is no longer in the running. What with being so old and whatnot.
I've probably sunk more hours into The Wrath of the Lamb than I have any other game this year, and the only reason I'm not still playing it is because my job required me to move on and give time to other, newer games. Bummer. It's an easy game to become devoured in.

If the Binding of Isaac isn't your cup of tea, that's fine. There's something else happening this weekend on Steam that might be of interest–if you like shooters, anyway. Modern Warfare 3 is having a free weekend according to Joystiq. Not as good as a sale, but it's unlikely we'll see a sale on that game anytime soon. At least, not a worthwhile one–CoD don't devalue very fast on Steam.
