Physics—or rather, PhysX—is one of the most enjoyable features that the PC version of Borderlands 2 has to offer over its console counterparts.
In short form, the PhysX feature enables the game to render massive amounts of debris and liquid with which the player can create simply by shooting surfaces or blowing things up with explosives. The physics even goes so far as to render flags and other cloth surfaces which can be torn and ripped to shreds.
The physics, being what it is, isn’t a perfect implementation and can be buggy at times, causing enemy corpses to float in the air or for debris to fill up the screen entirely. The video below provides an example of the kind of glitch enabled by the game’s advanced physics engine.
Whenever you open a porta-potty, or “dook hut, no fapping” as they’re called in the game, the game rewards you with a weapons cache hidden within the stall in addition to feces, which spills out of the toilet bowl. It’s supposed to stop overflowing once you open it, but the porta-potty in the video appears to have been glitched to the point where it won’t stop overflowing, inundating the entire area with fecal matter.
It’s times like these that I’m glad games don’t come with a smell attachment.
