Capcom has released a new gameplay video for Remember Me and it shows the game's Combo Lab. As with most of Capcom's trailers, it's quite long, but it doesn't show much story elements.
First thing you'll notice from the video is the pixelation. No, it's not your PC, it's part of the game's mechanics and shows up when you're quite low on health. It then shows us how Nilin gets her moves and combos. In the game, they're called "Pressens," and it seems to be very customizable in regards to what the attacks actually do. You can have combos that regenerate health (at the expense of dealing low damage) and so on.
It might just be me, but the combat looks similar to Rocksteady's Batman franchise. Not a bad game to be compared to, but let's hope DontNod has more tricks up their sleeves, no?
In addition to Pressens, there are also "S Pressens" and "Chain Pressens." Again, these mods affect your moves, how much damage it deals and so on. I'm guessing we'll see a lot of instances where you need to edit your Pressens to accomodate certain types of enemies. DontNod also mentions that if you don't want to mess with Pressens at all, there's an "auto-fill" option in the game, too.
In their next video, DontNod reveals that they will be showcasing the enemies in Remember Me and their characteristics. So keep an eye out for that.
Remember Me is scheduled for a May 2013 release for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
