Contrary to popular belief, iOS 6 does not break everything. With that said, some users have reported that Apple’s newly released iOS 6 for the iPhone have caused their applications—particularly Blizzard’s Mobile Authenticator—to stop working.
Blizzard’s Mobile Authenticator is used in games like World of Warcraft and Diablo 3 to ostensibly offer an additional layer of protection for player accounts against hackers and phishing scams. Players logging into these games must authenticate their accounts with a procedurally generated number provided by the app in addition to entering their username and password.
In any case, iOS 6 appears to have broken the app for some users, so Blizzard’s customer service department has put together a handy guide to help users resync the Mobile Authenticator app on their phones.
If you’re having trouble logging into your favorite MMO, be sure to head on over to their website to find out how to fix your authenticator and get it back up and running again.
