After a long wait, independent development studio Tri-Coastal Games has released their 80’s inspired sci-fi shooter Dystoria on Steam. Dystoria has been in development for two years, and promises a blend of classic arcade action and unique 6-axis gameplay. The objective in each level is to navigate the correct route to capture the enemy and collect highly coveted orbs.
Visually, the game adopts a neon, ‘retrofuturistic’ style, and supports the mind-bending levels with a synthwave original soundtrack. Tri-Coastal Games’ Daryl Wilson feels Dystoria’s zero-g space labyrinthine quality offers players a unique experience:
“Dystoria has been inspired by 80s movies and games along with titles like Tron, Descent, Star Wars, Super Mario Galaxy, and we are intent on offering an exhilarating experience, both visually and audibly. Already we are pleased to hear the media say in positive terms they can’t think of any game out there – like this!”
Dystoria is currently available from Steam (PC) for $10.04 USD, 33% off its usual price until February 28.
