Chroma Squad is an RPG heavily inspired by Power Rangers. Bandai Namco has announced that it will launch on PS4 and Xbox One in May 2017. The previously announced PlayStation Vita version has been cancelled, but there is no word on whether or not the previously announced PlayStation 3 version will still be available.
Chroma Squad tasks players with taking control of a team of five stunt actors who’ve made the bold decision to quit their days jobs and create their own Power Rangers inspired TV show. You will be able to purchase and upgrade equipment, craft weapons, and build giant mechs to battle against monsters. All this in hopes that you get higher TV viewer ratings.
The game is developed by Brazilian studio Behold, and previously launched on PC in April 2015 following a successful Kickstarter campaign. It will cost $15 USD to download, but international pricing is currently unknown.
Combat for the game is tactical and turn-based. It features sprite-based graphics and a chiptune soundtrack. Chroma Squad employs some rather quirky humor, which you can see more of in the trailer above.
