As reported by Siliconera today, the predicted commercial success of the upcoming Ace Attorney 5, which is a return to form for the series with Phoenix Wright again in the lead role, could bring with it a localization for Ace Attorney Investigations 2.
The Investigations series, in which players take on the role of Phoenix’s rival/childhood friend/probable romantic interest, prosecuting attorney Miles Edgeworth, has not so far enjoyed the same runaway success of its flagship. It’s so bad that we haven’t even had word yet on the localization of a sequel. But while Capcom USA Senior VIP assures fans that “AAI2 isn’t being held hostage so please don’t read it that way,” he did go on to add that sales from Ace Attorney 5 and the upcoming iOS re-releases of the first three games couldn’t hurt.
Justification for higher forecasts via stronger than expected sales in the franchise would be helpful.

Bear in mind… the forecasts for AA5 I’ve put in are aggressive (high) relative to the historical performance of the franchise (needed to make sure it came over), so I’m counting on you guys to not make me a liar.
Well! That’s clear enough. Make Ace Attorney 5 a bestseller, fans of handheld lawyer games, or the guy in the pink suit gets it.
