When I was a rebellious teen my life consisted of two things: wishing I was as cool as Jonny Lee Miller in Hackers and wishing I could flaunt the law with some awesome rollerblading and graffiti skills. These two desires came together in Jet Set Radio (or Jet Grind Radio if you wish to be a total mundane), so it was really kind of tragic how badly I sucked at playing it.
Turns out I'm not the only one. As we can see in this totally on-point fan film, those full-circle analog stick moves are hard. And just when you think you've run from the fuzz, there they are.
I know it's the one-year anniversary of Occupy Wall Street today, and I certainly am not suggesting you go out and eff the po-lice by vandalizing some store fronts. But seeing as the HD rerelease is still a whole day or more away, maybe this video will tide you over till then. Oh, and then you should go watch Exit Through the Gift Shop, which really is a real-life Jet Set Radio. Sans the rollerskates.
