GWENT describes its newest faction as, “More than any other GWENT faction, Nilfgaard relies on diplomacy and subterfuge to disrupt enemy strategies and enact its own. The empire plants Spies behind enemy lines to perform sabotage and reveal cards in the opponent’s hand. Well-aware of power’s benefits, Nilfgaardians target the strongest enemy units, crippling them or eliminating them altogether.”
The newest faction, Nilfgaard, arrived today and brings over 40 new cards to GWENT. Nilfgaard equips players with a control and espionage-oriented playstyle. The update expands the number of cards available in the game by over 60, and these new additions include faction-specific cards for Northern Realms, Scoia’tael, Skellige, and Monsters, as well as neutral cards that every faction can use.
Players utilize new tactics, such as Reconnaissance, Resource Control, and Infiltration. With Reconnaissance, players can permanently reveal cards hidden in their opponent’s hand. Resource Control allows players to control the order of cards in player decks. And finally, Infiltration allows players to use spies to wreak havoc on enemy forces from within. New leaders have also arrived, including Emperor Emhyr Var Emreis, Morvran Voorhis, and John Calveit.
