Bohemia Interactive's ArmA 2 mod DayZ is already a hit on PC, but it seems the game could be coming to consoles soon, too.
In an interview with Videogamer, Bohemia producer Jan Kunt commented that the company is "definitely looking into consoles closer."
Obviously DayZ, you've seen the success of Minecraft on Xbox LIVE Arcade, and we'd probably be stupid not to try to do something similar.
Kunt also adds that they've always wanted to makes games for consoles as well. So, what's the big draw for them to go the console route? Kunt states, "Obviously we're a PC developer and have been for some years, but consoles have a huge market and you don't have so many problems with piracy."
It's also worth noting that back in August, Bohemia announced that they would be releasing a standalone version of DayZ later this year. Following that announcement, Bohemia suggested that a PS3 and Xbox 360 version would be developed once the PC mod had "reached a point in development."
Keep in mind that this isn't a confirmation that DayZ will be coming to consoles, but reading between the lines, don't be surprised if we do see the game on Xbox LIVE and the PSN at some point in the future.
Could DayZ work on consoles? Come to think of it, would it even sell well?
